Strange URLs appearing

Hi everyone
I hope you can help
My sitellite site is generating some strange URLs as follows:
http://www.mydomain.com/index/index/index/index/page
In fact you can add as many /index to any URl as above as u like and it generates a default page that is a copy of the home page. So my site has loads of duplicate URLs occuring like this
any ideas on how to fix it
