Subdomain change; resource references broken

Had to switch from a domain (i.e. www.website.com) to a subdomain to archive it (archive.website.com). Original domain no longer available for use. The archive version of the site has lost all of its references to all the resources that make up the webpage from the CMS. Suspect the databases are still set to look for the old domain (www version), but all the links were relative and changed to "archive" and it cannot find said resources. Any advice on how to manually edit the CMS configuration files to recognize the new subdomain? (basically, manually point the CMS to go from www.website.com to archive.website.com)
